Please join us in warmly welcoming the pilot cohort of Maestra, our new leadership program for philanthropic executives and trustees.
During the opening retreat in May 2019 at the beautiful IONS Earthrise Retreat Center in Petaluma, CA, cohort members spent 4 days together building deep relationships, creating conscious community, reflecting on their relationship to capital and class, interrogating the ways in which philanthropic institutions have been structured over the last century to accumulate wealth and power, and exploring what it means to guide philanthropy through a Just Transition.
We also spent an afternoon visiting Bay Area organizations leading on-the-ground Just Transition efforts and discussing how philanthropy can be in solidarity – and align capital – with Just Transition projects that are ushering a regenerative economy.
We look forward to building with this incredible cohort through the program and beyond, and to sharing our lessons and outcomes with the Justice Funders community.
