A suite of resources for funders, investors and movement funds seeking to apply a Just Transition lens to their investment practices, to shift capital and power to build the regenerative economy.
Welcome to the JTIC Fund Tool Lending Library!
We’re grateful that you’ve taken an interest in our resources and look forward to supporting you in your learning journey around non-extractive investing. Our library contains a suite of tools that are shared in the spirit of transparency and co-learning purposes in community as you evaluate what kind of policies, processes, and materials you need to develop or evolve to better your approach to doing finance through a Just Transition lens.
These tools were initially created for the Just Transition Integrated Capital (JTIC) Fund, a movement-controlled, democratically governed investment fund that challenges traditional investment models by putting justice, democratic decision-making, and community self-governance at the center. The JTIC Fund serves as a learning and capacity building vehicle to move endowed assets to BIPOC and working class controlled funds and grassroots projects through non-extractive financing in the form of 0% loans and catalytic grants.Learn more on our webpage.

The JTIC Fund Investment Policy Statement (IPS):
This document outlines the purpose, values, structure, governance, offerings, sourcing, due diligence, reporting, and returns for the JTIC Fund. It reimagines commonly used terms in IPS statements inclusive of returns, risk, and reporting.
Term Sheet for Investors:
Taking a relationship-based approach, this outlines our terms for investors into the JTIC Fund, inclusive of an investor readiness checklist, and sets the expectation for how we want to be in relationship with investors.
Term Sheet for Borrowers:
Also taking a relationship-based approach, this outlines our terms for borrowers from the JTIC Fund, inclusive of a borrower readiness checklist, and sets the expectation for how we want to be in relationship with borrowers.
Contract of Interdependence (COI):
In lieu of a traditional conflict of interest policy, the JTIC Fund Governing Body created a Contract of Interdependence to better express the values and spirit of our governance structure and approach to finance that benefits communities.
Conflict Resolution Policy:
When conflict arises, this is the policy the JTIC Fund uses to address concerns. Rather than using punitive measures for borrowers, it is rooted in transformative justice practices.
Relationship and Capacity Building Process:
The JTIC Fund’s due diligence process and the materials we collect from potential borrowers are outlined in this document. It seeks to transform due diligence from a process that protects wealth holders’ well-being and power to one that centers the dignity, safety, and self-determination of borrowers.
Grant Agreement:
This is our grant agreement for borrowers from the JTIC Fund who also receive grants as part of their integrated capital stack.
Loan Agreement for Investors:
This is our loan agreement for investors into the JTIC Fund that centers the financial and psychological well-being of borrowers through both terms and practices.
Loan Agreement for Borrowers:
This is our loan agreement for borrowers of the JTIC Fund that centers the financial and psychological well-being of borrowers through both terms and practices. Our loan agreement for borrowers is currently under construction. We will share this document with you as soon as it is approved by the JTIC Fund Governing Body.
