Multiple communities have come under attack in the first 100 days of the 45th Presidential administration, however, the RESISTANCE is strong! Grassroots and community leaders have mobilized to develop proactive and defensive strategies to combat potential rollbacks affecting marginalized communities throughout the country, in addition to engaging in intentional practices that center love and inclusion. Philanthropic solidarity to support resistance efforts is growing through pledges, rapid response funds, and aligned grantmaking.
As we mark 100 days in this new administration, local leaders from the Arab Resource & Organizing Center (invited), Bay Rising, and Movement Strategy Center will share examples of how to #LeadWithLove and Bay Resistance. And similarly, leaders from the Groundswell Fund, General Service Foundation, and the California Wellness Foundation will highlight how philanthropy is working to show solidarity to movements in this moment.
Join us for a multi-dimensional conversation between members of BAJFN and movement leaders. We will learn about resistance efforts on the ground & solidarity efforts in philanthropy, engage in strategic conversations between funders and community leaders about the next 100 days:
How can funders support resistance efforts in the next 100 days?
How can grassroots leaders and funders coordinate and strategize in a more collaborative way?
**Light refreshments will be served. **
